2 Corinthians 5:12
5:12 We are not trying to commend 1 ourselves to you again, but are giving you an opportunity to be proud of us, 2 so that you may be able to answer those who take pride 3 in outward appearance 4 and not in what is in the heart.
2 Corinthians 9:5
9:5 Therefore I thought it necessary to urge these brothers to go to you in advance and to arrange ahead of time the generous contribution 5 you had promised, so this may be ready as a generous gift 6 and not as something you feel forced to do. 7
2 Corinthians 12:20-21
12:20 For I am afraid that somehow when I come I will not find you what I wish, and you will find me 8 not what you wish. I am afraid that 9 somehow there may be quarreling, jealousy, intense anger, selfish ambition, 10 slander, gossip, arrogance, and disorder.
12:21 I am afraid that 11 when I come again, my God may humiliate me before you, and I will grieve for 12 many of those who previously sinned and have not repented of the impurity, sexual immorality, and licentiousness that they have practiced.
2 Corinthians 13:10
13:10 Because of this I am writing these things while absent, so that when I arrive 13 I may not have to deal harshly with you 14 by using my authority – the Lord gave it to me for building up, not for tearing down!
