2 Chronicles 8:11

8:11 Solomon moved Pharaoh’s daughter up from the City of David to the palace he had built for her, for he said, “My wife must not live in the palace of King David of Israel, for the places where the ark of the Lord has entered are holy.”

2 Chronicles 9:8

9:8 May the Lord your God be praised because he favored you by placing you on his throne as the one ruling on his behalf! Because of your God’s love for Israel and his lasting commitment to them, he made you king over them so you could make just and right decisions.”

2 Chronicles 14:7

14:7 He said to the people of Judah: “Let’s build these cities and fortify them with walls, towers, and barred gates. The land remains ours because we have followed the Lord our God and he has made us secure on all sides.” So they built the cities 10  and prospered.

2 Chronicles 22:9

22:9 He looked for Ahaziah, who was captured while hiding in Samaria. 11  They brought him to Jehu and then executed him. They did give him a burial, for they reasoned, 12  “He is the son of Jehoshaphat, who sought the Lord with his whole heart.” There was no one in Ahaziah’s family strong enough to rule in his place. 13 

2 Chronicles 23:20

23:20 He summoned 14  the officers of the units of hundreds, the nobles, the rulers of the people, and all the people of land, and he then led the king down from the Lord’s temple. They entered the royal palace through the Upper Gate and seated the king on the royal throne.

2 Chronicles 24:20

24:20 God’s Spirit energized 15  Zechariah son of Jehoiada the priest. He stood up before the people and said to them, “This is what God says: ‘Why are you violating the commands of the Lord? You will not be prosperous! Because you have rejected the Lord, he has rejected you!’”

2 Chronicles 24:25

24:25 When they withdrew, they left Joash 16  badly wounded. His servants plotted against him because of what he had done to 17  the son 18  of Jehoiada the priest. They murdered him on his bed. Thus 19  he died and was buried in the City of David, 20  but not in the tombs of the kings.

2 Chronicles 25:4

25:4 However, he did not execute their sons. He obeyed the Lord’s commandment as recorded in the law scroll of Moses, 21  “Fathers must not be executed for what their sons do, 22  and sons must not be executed for what their fathers do. 23  A man must be executed only for his own sin.” 24

25:24 He took away all the gold and silver, all the items found in God’s temple that were in the care of Obed-Edom, the riches in the royal palace, and some hostages. Then he went back to Samaria.

2 Chronicles 26:21

26:21 King Uzziah suffered from a skin disease until the day he died. He lived in separate quarters, 25  afflicted by a skin disease and banned from the Lord’s temple. His son Jotham was in charge of the palace and ruled over the people of the land.

2 Chronicles 28:9

28:9 Oded, a prophet of the Lord, was there. He went to meet the army as they arrived in Samaria and said to them: “Look, because the Lord God of your ancestors was angry with Judah he handed them over to you. You have killed them so mercilessly that God has taken notice. 26

32:21 The Lord sent a messenger 27  and he wiped out all the soldiers, princes, and officers in the army of the king of Assyria. So Sennacherib 28  returned home humiliated. 29  When he entered the temple of his god, some of his own sons 30  struck him down with the sword.

33:7 He put an idolatrous image he had made in God’s temple, about which God had said to David and to his son Solomon, “This temple in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, will be my permanent home. 31

33:14 After this Manasseh 32  built up the outer wall of the City of David 33  on the west side of the Gihon in the valley to the entrance of the Fish Gate and all around the terrace; he made it much higher. He placed army officers in all the fortified cities in Judah.

33:19 The Annals of the Prophets include his prayer, give an account of how the Lord responded to it, record all his sins and unfaithful acts, and identify the sites where he built high places and erected Asherah poles and idols before he humbled himself. 34 

2 Chronicles 34:4

34:4 He ordered the altars of the Baals to be torn down, 35  and broke the incense altars that were above them. He smashed the Asherah poles, idols and images, crushed them up and sprinkled the dust over the tombs of those who had sacrificed to them.

2 Chronicles 34:8

34:8 In the eighteenth year of his reign, he continued his policy of purifying the land and the temple. 36  He sent Shaphan son of Azaliah, Maaseiah the city official, and Joah son of Joahaz the secretary to repair the temple of the Lord his God.
