2 Chronicles 7:6

7:6 The priests stood in their assigned spots, along with the Levites who had the musical instruments used for praising the Lord. 1  (These were the ones King David made for giving thanks to the Lord and which were used by David when he offered praise, saying, “Certainly his loyal love endures.”) 2  Opposite the Levites, 3  the priests were blowing the trumpets, while all Israel stood there.

2 Chronicles 8:11

8:11 Solomon moved Pharaoh’s daughter up from the City of David 4  to the palace he had built for her, for he said, “My wife must not live in the palace of King David of Israel, for the places where the ark of the Lord has entered are holy.”

2 Chronicles 8:14

8:14 As his father David had decreed, Solomon 5  appointed the divisions of the priests to do their assigned tasks, the Levitical orders to lead worship and help the priests with their daily tasks, 6  and the divisions of the gatekeepers to serve at their assigned gates. 7  This was what David the man of God had ordered. 8 

2 Chronicles 10:16

10:16 When all Israel saw that the king refused to listen to them, the people answered the king, “We have no portion in David – no share in the son of Jesse! 9  Return to your homes, O Israel! 10  Now, look after your own dynasty, O David!” 11  So all Israel returned to their homes. 12 

2 Chronicles 23:18

23:18 Jehoiada then assigned the duties of the Lord’s temple to the priests, the Levites whom David had assigned to the Lord’s temple. They were responsible for offering burnt sacrifices to the Lord with joy and music, according to 13  the law of Moses and the edict of David.

9 sn The people’s point seems to be that they have no familial relationship with David that brings them any benefits or places upon them any obligations. They are being treated like outsiders.

10 tn Heb “each one to your tents, Israel.” The word “return” is supplied in the translation for stylistic reasons.

11 tn Heb “Now see your house, David.”

12 tn Heb “went to their tents.”
