2 Chronicles 6:32

6:32 “Foreigners, who do not belong to your people Israel, will come from a distant land because of your great reputation and your ability to accomplish mighty deeds; they will come and direct their prayers toward this temple.

2 Chronicles 7:14

7:14 if my people, who belong to me, humble themselves, pray, seek to please me, and repudiate their sinful practices, then I will respond from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.

tn Heb “your great name.” The word “name” sometimes refers to one’s reputation or honor (thus the translation here, “your great reputation).

tn Heb “and your strong hand and your outstretched arm.”

tn Heb “over whom my name is called.” The Hebrew idiom “call the name over” indicates ownership. See 2 Sam 12:28.

tn Heb “seek my face,” where “my face” is figurative for God’s presence and acceptance.

tn Heb “and turn from their sinful ways.”

tn Heb “hear.”

sn Here the phrase heal their land means restore the damage done by the drought, locusts and plague mentioned in v. 13.
