2 Chronicles 20:2

20:2 Messengers ¹  arrived and reported to Jehoshaphat, “A huge army is attacking you from the other side of the Dead Sea, ²  from the direction of Edom. ³  Look, they are in Hazezon Tamar (that is, En Gedi).”

2 Chronicles 32:9

32:9 Afterward King Sennacherib of Assyria, while attacking Lachish with all his military might, sent his messengers ⁴  to Jerusalem. The message was for King Hezekiah of Judah and all the people of ⁵  Judah who were in Jerusalem. It read:

⁴ tn Heb “servants.”

⁵ tn Heb “all Judah.” The words “the people of” are supplied in the translation for clarity. The Hebrew text uses the name “Judah” here by metonymy for the people of Judah.
