Zimri’s Reign over Israel

16:15 In the twenty-seventh year of Asa’s reign over Judah, Zimri became king over Israel; he ruled for seven days in Tirzah. Zimri’s revolt took place while the army was deployed ¹  in Gibbethon, which was in Philistine territory.

1 Kings 19:4

19:4 while he went a day’s journey into the desert. He went and sat down under a shrub ²  and asked the Lord to take his life: ³  “I’ve had enough! Now, O Lord, take my life. After all, I’m no better than my ancestors.” ⁴
