1 Kings 1:3-4

1:3 So they looked through all Israel for a beautiful young woman and found Abishag, a Shunammite, and brought her to the king. 1:4 The young woman was very beautiful; she became the king’s nurse and served him, but the king did not have sexual relations with her.

1 Kings 1:31

1:31 Bathsheba bowed down to the king with her face to the floor and said, “May my master, King David, live forever!”

1 Kings 9:24

9:24 Solomon built the terrace as soon as Pharaoh’s daughter moved up from the city of David to the palace Solomon built for her.

1 Kings 17:20

17:20 Then he called out to the Lord, “O Lord, my God, are you also bringing disaster on this widow I am staying with by killing her son?”

tn Heb “through all the territory of Israel.”

tn Heb “did not know her.”

tn Heb “bowed low, face [to] the ground, and bowed down to the king.”

sn The phrase city of David refers here to the fortress of Zion in Jerusalem, not to Bethlehem. See 2 Sam 5:7.

tn Heb “As soon as Pharaoh’s daughter went up from the city of David to her house which he built for her, then he built the terrace.”
