1:25 For today he has gone down and sacrificed many cattle, steers, and sheep and has invited all the king’s sons, the army commanders, and Abiathar the priest. At this moment they are having a feast in his presence, and they have declared, ‘Long live King Adonijah!’

1 Kings 12:16

12:16 When all Israel saw that the king refused to listen to them, the people answered the king, “We have no portion in David, no share in the son of Jesse! Return to your homes, O Israel! Now, look after your own dynasty, O David!” So Israel returned to their homes.

1 Kings 13:6

13:6 The king pled with the prophet, “Seek the favor of 10  the Lord your God and pray for me, so that my hand may be restored.” So the prophet sought the Lord’s favor 11  and the king’s hand was restored to its former condition. 12

Since the accepted weight for a talent of metal is about 75 pounds, this would have amounted to about 75 pounds of silver.

17 tn Heb “your life will be in place of his life, or a unit of silver you will pay.”
