1 Chronicles 5:26
5:26 So the God of Israel stirred up 1 King Pul of Assyria (that is, King Tiglath-pileser of Assyria), 2 and he carried away the Reubenites, Gadites, and half-tribe of Manasseh and took them to Halah, Habor, Hara, and the river of Gozan, where they remain to this very day.
1 Chronicles 13:2
13:2 David said to the whole Israelite assembly, “If you so desire and the Lord our God approves, 3 let’s spread the word 4 to our brothers who remain in all the regions of Israel, and to the priests and Levites in their cities, 5 so they may join us.
1 tn Heb “stirred up the spirit of.”
2 tn Heb “and the spirit of Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria.” “Pul” and “Tilgath-pilneser” were names of the same Assyrian ruler, more commonly known as Tiglath-pileser (cf. 2 Kgs 15:29).
3 tn Heb “If to you [it is] good and from the Lord our God.”
4 tn Heb “let us spread and let us send.” The words “the word” are supplied in the translation for clarification.
5 tn Heb “in the cities of their pasturelands.”
