1 Chronicles 12:18

12:18 But a spirit ¹  empowered ²  Amasai, the leader of the thirty warriors, and he said: ³ 

“We are yours, O David!

We support ⁴  you, O son of Jesse!

May you greatly prosper! ⁵ 

May those who help you prosper! ⁶ 

Indeed ⁷  your God helps you!”

So David accepted them and made them leaders of raiding bands.

1 Chronicles 28:4

28:4 The Lord God of Israel chose me out of my father’s entire family to become king over Israel and have a permanent dynasty. ⁸  Indeed, ⁹  he chose Judah as leader, and my father’s family within Judah, and then he picked me out from among my father’s sons and made me king over all Israel. ¹⁰
