2 Chronicles 26:23--27:1

26:23 Uzziah passed away 1  and was buried near his ancestors 2  in a cemetery 3  belonging to the kings. (This was because he had a skin disease.) 4  His son Jotham replaced him as king.

Jotham’s Reign

27:1 Jotham was twenty-five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned for sixteen years in Jerusalem. 5  His mother was Jerusha the daughter of Zadok.

1 tn Heb “lay down with his fathers.”

2 tn Heb “fathers.”

3 tn Heb “a field of burial.”

4 tn Heb “for they said, ‘He had a skin disease.’”
