These are the men who divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit.
These are the ones who cause divisions, worldly-minded, devoid of the Spirit.
Now they are here, and they are the ones who are creating divisions among you. They live by natural instinct because they do not have God’s Spirit living in them.

sn The phrase devoid of the Spirit may well indicate Jude’s and Peter’s assessment of the spiritual status of the false teachers. Those who do not have the Spirit are clearly not saved.
