In the same way, let your light shine before people, so that they can see your good deeds and give honor to your Father in heaven.

Instead, you have exalted yourself against the Lord of heaven. You brought before you the vessels from his temple, and you and your nobles, together with your wives and concubines, drank wine from them. You praised the gods of silver, gold, bronze, iron, wood, and stone – gods 1 that cannot see or hear or comprehend! But you have not glorified the God who has in his control 2 your very breath and all your ways!
Cry out, O nations, with his people, for he will avenge his servants’ blood; he will take vengeance against his enemies, and make atonement for his land and people.
May the Lord your God be praised because he favored 1 you by placing you on the throne of Israel! Because of the Lord’s eternal love for Israel, he made you king so you could make just and right decisions.” 2
