She did not abandon the prostitution she had practiced in Egypt; for in her youth men had sex with her, fondled her virgin breasts, and ravished her. 1
that person 1 will also drink of the wine of God’s anger 2 that has been mixed undiluted in the cup of his wrath, and he will be tortured with fire and sulfur 3 in front of the holy angels and in front of the Lamb.
then 1 the man must bring his wife to the priest, and he must bring the offering required for her, one tenth of an ephah of barley meal; he must not pour olive oil on it or put frankincense on it, because it is a grain offering of suspicion, 2 a grain offering for remembering, 3 for bringing 4 iniquity to remembrance.
The people to whom they are prophesying will die through war and famine. Their bodies will be thrown out into the streets of Jerusalem 1 and there will be no one to bury them. This will happen to the men and their wives, their sons, and their daughters. 2 For I will pour out on them the destruction they deserve.” 3

I brought them to the land which I swore 1 to give them, but whenever they saw any high hill or leafy tree, they offered their sacrifices there and presented the offerings that provoke me to anger. They offered their soothing aroma there and poured out their drink offerings.
“All Israel has broken 1 your law and turned away by not obeying you. 2 Therefore you have poured out on us the judgment solemnly threatened 3 in the law of Moses the servant of God, for we have sinned against you. 4
He will confirm a covenant with many for one week. 1 But in the middle of that week he will bring sacrifices and offerings to a halt. On the wing 2 of abominations will come 3 one who destroys, until the decreed end is poured out on the one who destroys.”
Therefore you must wait patiently 1 for me,” says the Lord, “for the day when I attack and take plunder. 2 I have decided 3 to gather nations together and assemble kingdoms, so I can pour out my fury on them – all my raging anger. For 4 the whole earth will be consumed by my fiery anger.
