Tell me! Present the evidence! 1 Let them consult with one another! Who predicted this in the past? Who announced it beforehand? Was it not I, the Lord? I have no peer, there is no God but me, a God who vindicates and delivers; 2 there is none but me.
Lord, I know you look for faithfulness. 1 But even when you punish these people, they feel no remorse. 2 Even when you nearly destroy them, they refuse to be corrected. They have become as hardheaded as a rock. 3 They refuse to change their ways. 4
Then I said, “Lord, 1 have you completely rejected the nation of Judah? Do you despise 2 the city of Zion? Why have you struck us with such force that we are beyond recovery? 3 We hope for peace, but nothing good has come of it. We hope for a time of relief from our troubles, but experience terror. 4
So I, the Lord, affirm that 1 I will send for all the peoples of the north 2 and my servant, 3 King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon. I will bring them against this land and its inhabitants and all the nations that surround it. I will utterly destroy 4 this land, its inhabitants, and all the nations that surround it 5 and make them everlasting ruins. 6 I will make them objects of horror and hissing scorn. 7
I will make myself available to you,’ 1 says the Lord. 2 ‘Then I will reverse your plight 3 and will regather you from all the nations and all the places where I have exiled you,’ says the Lord. 4 ‘I will bring you back to the place from which I exiled you.’

Lord, I have heard the report of what you did; 1 I am awed, 2 Lord, by what you accomplished. 3 In our time 4 repeat those deeds; 5 in our time reveal them again. 6 But when you cause turmoil, remember to show us mercy! 7
When the man got ready to leave 1 with his concubine and his servant, 2 his father-in-law, the girl’s father, said to him, “Look! The day is almost over! 3 Stay another night! Since the day is over, 4 stay another night here and have a good time. You can get up early tomorrow and start your trip home.” 5
“And you, Solomon my son, obey 1 the God of your father and serve him with a submissive attitude and a willing spirit, 2 for the Lord examines all minds and understands every motive of one’s thoughts. If you seek him, he will let you find him, 3 but if you abandon him, he will reject you permanently.
