Like the one made of dust, so too are those made of dust, and like the one from heaven, so too those who are heavenly.
They are darkened in their understanding, 1 being alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardness of their hearts.
Finally, my brothers and sisters, 1 rejoice in the Lord! To write this again is no trouble to me, and it is a safeguard for you.
You, however, be self-controlled 1 in all things, endure hardship, do an evangelist’s work, fulfill your ministry.
For God had provided something better for us, so that they would be made perfect together with us. 1
Think of him who endured such opposition against himself by sinners, so that you may not grow weary in your souls and give up.
Indeed, I will also make every effort that, after my departure, you have a testimony of these things. 1
Again, however, pay very careful attention, 1 lest you forget the things you have seen and disregard them for the rest of your life; instead teach them to your children and grandchildren.
Now seek the Lord your God wholeheartedly and with your entire being! 1 Get up and build the sanctuary of the Lord God! Then you can bring 2 the ark of the Lord’s covenant and the holy items dedicated to God’s service 3 into the temple that is built to honor the Lord.” 4
When I had made an inspection, 1 I stood up and said to the nobles, the officials, and the rest of the people, “Don’t be afraid of them. Remember the great and awesome Lord, 2 and fight on behalf of your brothers, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your families!” 3
“Therefore this is what the sovereign Lord says: ‘Because you have brought up 1 your own guilt by uncovering your transgressions and revealing your sins through all your actions, for this reason you will be taken by force. 2
The man said to me, “Son of man, watch closely, listen carefully, and pay attention 1 to everything I show you, for you have been brought here so that I can show it to you. 2 Tell the house of Israel everything you see.”
By his treachery 1 he will succeed through deceit. 2 He will have an arrogant attitude, 3 and he will destroy many who are unaware of his schemes. 4 He will rise up against the Prince of princes, yet he will be broken apart – but not by human agency. 5
But the chief cupbearer did not remember Joseph – he forgot him. 1
Don’t worry 1 about your belongings, for the best of all the land of Egypt will be yours.’”
