If those people to whom the word of God came were called ‘gods’ (and the scripture cannot be broken), 1
you know what happened throughout Judea, beginning from Galilee after the baptism that John announced: 1
In the same way the Lord commanded those who proclaim the gospel to receive their living by the gospel.
Now I urge you, brothers and sisters, 1 bear with my message of exhortation, for in fact I have written to you briefly.

Afterward King Sennacherib of Assyria, while attacking Lachish with all his military might, sent his messengers 1 to Jerusalem. The message was for King Hezekiah of Judah and all the people of 2 Judah who were in Jerusalem. It read:
Here is a message about Moab: Indeed, in a night it is devastated, Ar of Moab is destroyed! Indeed, in a night it is devastated, Kir of Moab is destroyed!
Here is a message about Egypt: Look, the Lord rides on a swift-moving cloud and approaches Egypt. The idols of Egypt tremble before him; the Egyptians lose their courage. 1
Let the prophet who has had a dream go ahead and tell his dream. Let the person who has received my message report that message faithfully. What is like straw cannot compare to what is like grain! 1 I, the Lord, affirm it! 2
