If the king is so inclined, 1 let an edict be issued 2 to destroy them. I will pay ten thousand talents of silver 3 to be conveyed to the king’s treasuries for the officials who carry out this business.”

But you will become drunk 1 with shame, not majesty. 2 Now it is your turn to drink and expose your uncircumcised foreskin! 3 The cup of wine in the Lord’s right hand 4 is coming to you, and disgrace will replace your majestic glory!
Indeed, he will build the temple of the Lord, and he will be clothed in splendor, sitting as king on his throne. Moreover, there will be a priest 1 with him on his throne and they will see eye to eye on everything.
For if anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him 1 when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.”
Then 1 I heard every creature – in heaven, on earth, under the earth, in the sea, and all that is in them – singing: 2 “To the one seated on the throne and to the Lamb be praise, honor, glory, and ruling power 3 forever and ever!”
You said, “The Lord our God has shown us his great glory 1 and we have heard him speak from the middle of the fire. It is now clear to us 2 that God can speak to human beings and they can keep on living.
She said, “If the king is so inclined and if I have met with his approval and if the matter is agreeable to the king and if I am attractive to him, let an edict be written rescinding those recorded intentions of Haman the son of Hammedatha, the Agagite, 1 which he wrote in order to destroy the Jews who are throughout all the king’s provinces.
You saw that a stone was cut from a mountain, but not by human hands; it smashed the iron, bronze, clay, silver, and gold into pieces. The great God has made known to the king what will occur in the future. 1 The dream is certain, and its interpretation is reliable.”
