“Now, as for your two sons, who were born to you in the land of Egypt before I came to you in Egypt, they will be mine. 1 Ephraim and Manasseh will be mine just as Reuben and Simeon are.
The artistically woven waistband of the ephod that was on it was like it, of one piece with it, 1 of gold, blue, purple, and scarlet yarn and fine twisted linen, just as the Lord had commanded Moses.
They tied the breastpiece by its rings to the rings of the ephod by blue cord, so that it was above the waistband of the ephod, so that the breastpiece would not be loose from the ephod, just as the Lord had commanded Moses.
Then he must remove all of its fat (just as fat was removed from the peace offering sacrifice) and the priest must offer it up in smoke on the altar for a soothing aroma to the Lord. So the priest will make atonement 1 on his behalf and he will be forgiven. 2
but the entrails and the legs he washed with water, 1 and Moses offered the whole ram up in smoke on the altar – it was a burnt offering for a soothing aroma, a gift to the Lord, just as the Lord had commanded Moses. 2
Then Moses said to Aaron and his sons, “Boil the meat at the entrance of the Meeting Tent, and there you are to eat it and the bread which is in the ordination offering basket, just as I have commanded, 1 saying, ‘Aaron and his sons are to eat it,’
Moses then said to Aaron, “Approach the altar and make your sin offering and your burnt offering, and make atonement on behalf of yourself and on behalf of the people; 1 and also make the people’s offering and make atonement on behalf of them just as the Lord has commanded.”
Just then 1 one of the Israelites came and brought to his brothers 2 a Midianite woman in the plain view of Moses and of 3 the whole community of the Israelites, while they 4 were weeping at the entrance of the tent of meeting.
From the Israelites’ share Moses took one of every fifty people and animals and gave them to the Levites who were responsible for the care of the Lord’s tabernacle, just as the Lord commanded Moses.
Previously the Horites 1 lived in Seir but the descendants of Esau dispossessed and destroyed them and settled in their place, just as Israel did to the land it came to possess, the land the Lord gave them.) 2
just as the descendants of Esau who live at Seir and the Moabites who live in Ar did for me, until I cross the Jordan to the land the Lord our God is giving us.”
Look! I have taught you statutes and ordinances just as the Lord my God told me to do, so that you might carry them out in 1 the land you are about to enter and possess.
Pay attention, Israel, and be careful to do this so that it may go well with you and that you may increase greatly in number 1 – as the Lord, God of your ancestors, 2 said to you, you will have a land flowing with milk and honey.
You must not take for yourself anything that has been placed under judgment. 1 Then the Lord will relent from his intense anger, show you compassion, have mercy on you, and multiply you as he promised your ancestors.
Look down from your holy dwelling place in heaven and bless your people Israel and the land you have given us, just as you promised our ancestors – a land flowing with milk and honey.”
As for the Lord your God, he is about to cross over before you; he will destroy these nations before you and dispossess them. As for Joshua, he is about to cross before you just as the Lord has said.
for the Lord determined to make them obstinate so they would attack Israel. He wanted Israel to annihilate them without mercy, as he had instructed Moses. 1
