Now the Lord your God has made your fellow Israelites secure, 1 just as he promised them. So now you may turn around and go to your homes 2 in your own land 3 which Moses the Lord’s servant assigned to you east of the Jordan.
The Lord will attack Israel, making it like a reed that sways in the water. 1 He will remove Israel from this good land he gave to their ancestors 2 and scatter them beyond the Euphrates River, 3 because they angered the Lord by making Asherah poles. 4
Lord, use your power to deliver me from these murderers, 1 from the murderers of this world! 2 They enjoy prosperity; 3 you overwhelm them with the riches they desire. 4 They have many children, and leave their wealth to their offspring. 5
Nations will take them and bring them back to their own place. Then the family of Jacob will make foreigners their servants as they settle in the Lord’s land. 1 They will make their captors captives and rule over the ones who oppressed them.
Because you did that, I, the Lord, affirm that 1 a time is coming when I will make Rabbah, the capital city of Ammon, hear the sound of the battle cry. It will become a mound covered with ruins. 2 Its villages will be burned to the ground. 3 Then Israel will take back its land from those who took their land from them. I, the Lord, affirm it! 4
In that day people will sing this taunt song to you – they will mock you with this lament: 1 ‘We are completely destroyed; they sell off 2 the property of my people. How they remove it from me! 3 They assign our fields to the conqueror.’ 4

Now the entire family has risen up against your servant, saying, ‘Turn over the one who struck down his brother, so that we can execute him and avenge the death 1 of his brother whom he killed. In so doing we will also destroy the heir.’ They want to extinguish my remaining coal, 2 leaving no one on the face of the earth to carry on the name of my husband.”
