Even Saul went to his home in Gibeah. With him went some brave men whose hearts God had touched.
The Benjaminites attacked 1 the army, leaving the city unguarded. 2 They began to strike down their enemy 3 just as they had done before. On the main roads (one leads to Bethel, 4 the other to Gibeah) and in the field, they struck down 5 about thirty Israelites.
Indeed, this is what the Lord says to me: “The Lord will be like a growling lion, like a young lion growling over its prey. 1 Though a whole group of shepherds gathers against it, it is not afraid of their shouts or intimidated by their yelling. 2 In this same way the Lord who commands armies will descend to do battle on Mount Zion and on its hill. 3
