For I was terrified at the Lord’s intense anger 1 that threatened to destroy you. But he 2 listened to me this time as well.
Then all the nations will ask, “Why has the Lord done all this to this land? What is this fierce, heated display of anger 1 all about?”
Perhaps then they will ask the Lord for mercy and will all stop doing the evil things they have been doing. 1 For the Lord has threatened to bring great anger and wrath against these people.” 2
