For this is what the sovereign master 1 has told me: “Within exactly one year 2 all the splendor of Kedar will come to an end.
You should not consider it difficult to let him go free, for he will have served you for six years, twice 1 the time of a hired worker; the Lord your God will bless you in everything you do.
Now the Lord makes this announcement: “Within exactly three years 1 Moab’s splendor will disappear, along with all her many people; there will be just a few, insignificant survivors left.” 2
Even her mercenaries 1 will prove to be like pampered, 2 well-fed calves. For they too will turn and run away. They will not stand their ground when 3 the time for them to be destroyed comes, the time for them to be punished.
“I 1 will come to you in judgment. I will be quick to testify against those who practice divination, those who commit adultery, those who break promises, 2 and those who exploit workers, widows, and orphans, 3 who refuse to help 4 the immigrant 5 and in this way show they do not fear me,” says the Lord who rules over all.
