Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of the one who sent me 1 and to complete 2 his work. 3
For I have come down from heaven not to do my own will but the will of the one who sent me.
So Jesus replied, 1 “My teaching is not from me, but from the one who sent me. 2
We must perform the deeds 1 of the one who sent me 2 as long as 3 it is daytime. Night is coming when no one can work.
I tell you the solemn truth, 1 the slave 2 is not greater than his master, nor is the one who is sent as a messenger 3 greater than the one who sent him.
I can do nothing on my own initiative. 1 Just as I hear, I judge, and my judgment is just, 2 because I do not seek my own will, but the will of the one who sent me. 3
Now this is the will of the one who sent me – that I should not lose one person of every one he has given me, but raise them all up 1 at the last day.
The person who speaks on his own authority 1 desires 2 to receive honor 3 for himself; the one who desires 4 the honor 5 of the one who sent him is a man of integrity, 6 and there is no unrighteousness in him.
The person who does not love me does not obey 1 my words. And the word 2 you hear is not mine, but the Father’s who sent me.
