When 1 Jesus heard this he said, “Those who are healthy don’t need a physician, but those who are sick do. 2
A centurion 1 there 2 had a slave 3 who was highly regarded, 4 but who was sick and at the point of death.
Jesus replied, 1 “If I have said something wrong, 2 confirm 3 what is wrong. 4 But if I spoke correctly, why strike me?”
you ask and do not receive because you ask wrongly, so you can spend it on your passions.
When it was evening, many demon-possessed people were brought to him. He drove out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick. 1
When the people 1 there recognized him, they sent word into all the surrounding area, and they brought all their sick to him.
and said, “Lord, have mercy on my son, because he has seizures 1 and suffers terribly, for he often falls into the fire and into the water.
They said to him, “He will utterly destroy those evil men! Then he will lease the vineyard to other tenants who will give him his portion at the harvest.”
When it was evening, after sunset, they brought to him all who were sick and demon-possessed.
They ran through that whole region and began to bring the sick on mats to wherever he was rumored to be. 1
Jesus 1 answered them, “Those who are well don’t need a physician, but those who are sick do. 2

So a report about him spread throughout Syria. People 1 brought to him all who suffered with various illnesses and afflictions, those who had seizures, 2 paralytics, and those possessed by demons, 3 and he healed them.
A 1 Canaanite woman from that area came 2 and cried out, 3 “Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David! My daughter is horribly demon-possessed!”
So 1 he healed many who were sick with various diseases and drove out many demons. 2 But 3 he would not permit the demons to speak, 4 because they knew him. 5
When Jesus heard this he said to them, “Those who are healthy don’t need a physician, but those who are sick do. 1 I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
