Yet here he is, speaking publicly, 1 and they are saying nothing to him. 2 Do the rulers really know that this man 3 is the Christ? 4
Jesus told them this parable, 1 but they 2 did not understand 3 what he was saying to them.
Righteous Father, even if the world does not know you, I know you, and these men 1 know that you sent me.
None of the rulers of this age understood it. If they had known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

Then 1 the experts in the law 2 and the chief priests wanted to arrest 3 him that very hour, because they realized he had told this parable against them. But 4 they were afraid of the people.

But to the rest of you in Thyatira, all who do not hold to this teaching 1 (who have not learned the so-called “deep secrets 2 of Satan”), to you I say: I do not put any additional burden on you.
