Then the officers 1 returned 2 to the chief priests and Pharisees, 3 who said to them, “Why didn’t you bring him back with you?” 4
So Judas obtained a squad of soldiers 1 and some officers of the chief priests and Pharisees. 2 They came to the orchard 3 with lanterns 4 and torches and weapons.
When Jesus 1 had said this, one of the high priest’s officers who stood nearby struck him on the face and said, 2 “Is that the way you answer the high priest?”
Then the commander 1 of the temple guard 2 went with the officers 3 and brought the apostles 4 without the use of force 5 (for they were afraid of being stoned by the people). 6
When 1 they arrived 2 in Salamis, 3 they began to proclaim 4 the word of God in the Jewish synagogues. 5 (Now they also had John 6 as their assistant.) 7
Reach agreement 1 quickly with your accuser while on the way to court, 2 or he 3 may hand you over to the judge, and the judge hand you over to the warden, and you will be thrown into prison.

Then 1 some began to spit on him, and to blindfold him, and to strike him with their fists, saying, “Prophesy!” The guards also took him and beat 2 him.
(Now the slaves 1 and the guards 2 were standing around a charcoal fire they had made, warming themselves because it was cold. 3 Peter also was standing with them, warming himself.) 4
When the chief priests and their officers saw him, they shouted out, “Crucify 1 him! Crucify him!” 2 Pilate said, 3 “You take him and crucify him! 4 Certainly 5 I find no reason for an accusation 6 against him!”
But get up and stand on your feet, for I have appeared to you for this reason, to designate you in advance 1 as a servant and witness 2 to the things 3 you have seen 4 and to the things in which I will appear to you.
Jesus replied, “My kingdom is not from this world. If my kingdom were from this world, my servants would be fighting to keep me from being 1 handed over 2 to the Jewish authorities. 3 But as it is, 4 my kingdom is not from here.”
