So I want you to understand that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus is cursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.
The two villains arrived and sat opposite him. Then the villains testified against Naboth right before the people, saying, “Naboth cursed God and the king.” So they dragged him 1 outside the city and stoned him to death. 2

There is only cursing, lying, murder, stealing, and adultery. They resort to violence and bloodshed. 1
his body must not remain all night on the tree; instead you must make certain you bury 1 him that same day, for the one who is left exposed 2 on a tree is cursed by God. 3 You must not defile your land which the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance.
So let my lord the king now listen to the words of his servant. If the Lord has incited you against me, may he take delight in 1 an offering. When such a person 1 hears the words of this oath he secretly 2 blesses himself 3 and says, “I will have peace though I continue to walk with a stubborn spirit.” 4 This will destroy 5 the watered ground with the parched. 6
then let thorns sprout up in place of wheat, and in place of barley, weeds!” 1 The words of Job are ended.
But the Israelites disobeyed the command about the city’s riches. 1 Achan son of Carmi, son of Zabdi, 2 son of Zerah, from the tribe of Judah, stole some of the riches. 3 The Lord was furious with the Israelites. 4
“I will send it out,” says the Lord who rules over all, “and it will enter the house of the thief and of the person who swears falsely in my name. It will land in the middle of his house and destroy both timber and stones.”
