But Daniel made up his mind 1 that he would not defile 2 himself with the royal delicacies or the royal wine. 3 He therefore asked the overseer of the court officials for permission not to defile himself.
For here he is! He 1 formed the mountains and created the wind. He reveals 2 his plans 3 to men. He turns the dawn into darkness 4 and marches on the heights of the earth. The Lord, the God who commands armies, 5 is his name!”
Because of Israel’s sins 1 this is what the Lord, the God who commands armies, the sovereign One, 2 says: “In all the squares there will be wailing, in all the streets they will mourn the dead. 3 They will tell the field workers 4 to lament and the professional mourners 5 to wail.
The sovereign Lord confirms this oath by his very own life. 1 The Lord, the God who commands armies, is speaking: “I despise Jacob’s arrogance; I hate their 2 fortresses. I will hand over to their enemies 3 the city of Samaria 4 and everything in it.”
“Look! I am about to bring 1 a nation against you, family 2 of Israel.” The Lord, the God who commands armies, is speaking. “They will oppress 3 you all the way from Lebo-Hamath 4 to the Stream of the Arabah.” 5

I will remove 1 the chariot from Ephraim and the warhorse from Jerusalem, and the battle bow will be removed. Then he will announce peace to the nations. His dominion will be from sea to sea and from the Euphrates River 2 to the ends of the earth.
“Which ones?” he asked. Jesus replied, “Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false testimony,
