But these men do not understand the things they slander, and they are being destroyed by the very things that, like irrational animals, they instinctively comprehend. 1
For seven days 1 you must eat 2 bread made without yeast. 3 Surely 4 on the first day you must put away yeast from your houses because anyone who eats bread made with yeast 5 from the first day to the seventh day will be cut off 6 from Israel.
“‘Any person 1 who eats an animal that has died of natural causes 2 or an animal torn by beasts, whether a native citizen or a foreigner, 3 must wash his clothes, bathe in water, and be unclean until evening; then he becomes clean.
He said to me, ‘Look, you will conceive and have a son. 1 So now, do not drink wine or beer and do not eat any food that will make you ritually unclean. 2 For the child will be dedicated 3 to God from birth till the day he dies.’”

They captured as plunder 1 all their wealth, all their little ones, and their wives, including everything in the houses.
On the seventh day some of the people went out to gather it, but they found nothing.
Whoever makes anything like it, to use as perfume, 1 will be cut off from his people.”
