ת (Tav) As if it were a feast day, you call 1 enemies 2 to terrify me 3 on every side. 4 On the day of the Lord’s anger no one escaped or survived. My enemy has finished off those healthy infants whom I bore 5 and raised. 6
You will be 1 an object of scorn and taunting, 2 a prime example of destruction 3 among the nations around you when I execute judgments against you in anger and raging fury. 4 I, the Lord, have spoken!
As silver, bronze, iron, lead, and tin are gathered in a furnace so that the fire can melt them, so I will gather you in my anger and in my rage. I will deposit you there 1 and melt you.

Seek the Lord’s favor, 1 all you humble people 2 of the land who have obeyed his commands! 3 Strive to do what is right! 4 Strive to be humble! 5 Maybe you will be protected 6 on the day of the Lord’s angry judgment.
I am enraged at the shepherds and will punish the lead-goats. For the Lord who rules over all has brought blessing to his flock, the house of Judah, and will transform them into his majestic warhorse.
You will lose your hold on the land 1 which I gave to you as a permanent possession. I will make you serve your enemies in a land that you know nothing about. For you have made my anger burn like a fire that will never be put out.” 2

But they rebelled against me, and refused to listen to me; no one got rid of their detestable idols, 1 nor did they abandon the idols of Egypt. Then I decided to pour out 2 my rage on them and fully vent my anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.
This is what the Lord says: “Because Edom has committed three crimes 1 – make that four! 2 – I will not revoke my decree of judgment. 3 He chased his brother 4 with a sword; he wiped out his allies. 5 In his anger he tore them apart without stopping to rest; 6 in his fury he relentlessly attacked them. 7
