The Lord has issued a decree against you: 1 “Your dynasty will come to an end. 2 I will destroy the idols and images in the temples of your gods. I will desecrate 3 your grave – because you are accursed!” 4
But you will become drunk 1 with shame, not majesty. 2 Now it is your turn to drink and expose your uncircumcised foreskin! 3 The cup of wine in the Lord’s right hand 4 is coming to you, and disgrace will replace your majestic glory!
If someone carries holy meat in a fold of his garment and that fold touches bread, a boiled dish, wine, olive oil, or any other food, will that item become holy?’” 1 The priests answered, “It will not.”
Indeed, they made their heart as hard as diamond, 1 so that they could not obey the Torah and the other words the Lord who rules over all had sent by his Spirit through the former prophets. Therefore, the Lord who rules over all had poured out great wrath.
