Psalms 4:7


4:7 You make me happier 1 

than those who have abundant grain and wine. 2 

Psalms 145:15-16


145:15 Everything looks to you in anticipation, 3 

and you provide them with food on a regular basis. 4 

145:16 You open your hand,

and fill every living thing with the food they desire. 5 

Psalms 147:8-9


147:8 He covers 6  the sky with clouds,

provides the earth with rain,

and causes grass to grow on the hillsides. 7 

147:9 He gives food to the animals,

and to the young ravens when they chirp. 8 

1 tn Heb “you place joy in my heart.” Another option is to understand the perfect verbal form as indicating certitude, “you will make me happier.”

2 tn Heb “from (i.e., more than) the time (when) their grain and their wine are abundant.”

3 tn Heb “the eyes of all wait for you.”

4 tn Heb “and you give to them their food in its season” (see Ps 104:27).

5 tn Heb “[with what they] desire.”

6 tn Heb “the one who covers.”

7 tn Heb “hills.”

8 tn Heb “which cry out.”
