2 Kings 3:7

Context
3:7 He sent 1  this message to King Jehoshaphat of Judah: “The king of Moab has rebelled against me. Will you fight with me against Moab?” Jehoshaphat 2  replied, “I will join you in the campaign; my army and horses are at your disposal.” 3 

2 Kings 9:21

Context
9:21 Jehoram ordered, “Hitch up my chariot.” 4  When his chariot had been hitched up, 5  King Jehoram of Israel and King Ahaziah of Judah went out in their respective chariots 6  to meet Jehu. They met up with him 7  in the plot of land that had once belonged to Naboth of Jezreel.

2 Kings 9:33

Context
9:33 He said, “Throw her down!” So they threw her down, and when she hit the ground, 8  her blood splattered against the wall and the horses, and Jehu drove his chariot over her. 9 

2 Kings 11:16

Context
11:16 They seized her and took her into the precincts of the royal palace through the horses’ entrance. 10  There she was executed.

2 tn Heb “he”; the referent (Jehoshaphat) has been specified in the translation for clarity.

3 tn Heb “I will go up – like me, like you; like my people, like your people; like my horses; like your horses.”

4 tn The words “my chariot” are added for clarification.

5 tn Heb “and he hitched up his chariot.”

6 tn Heb “each in his chariot and they went out.”

7 tn Heb “they found him.”

8 tn The words “when she hit the ground” are added for stylistic reasons.

9 tn Heb “and he trampled her.”

10 tn Heb “and they placed hands on her, and she went the way of the entrance of the horses [into] the house of the king.”
