18:4 Jonathan took off the robe he was wearing and gave it to David, along with the rest of his gear, including his sword, his bow, and even his belt.

19:24 He even stripped off his clothes and prophesied before Samuel. He lay there 1  naked all that day and night. (For that reason it is asked, “Is Saul also among the prophets?”)

1 Samuel 31:8-9

Context

31:8 The next day, when the Philistines came to strip loot from the corpses, they discovered Saul and his three sons lying dead 2  on Mount Gilboa. 31:9 They cut off Saul’s 3  head and stripped him of his armor. They sent messengers to announce the news in the temple of their idols and among their people throughout the surrounding land of the Philistines.

1 tn Heb “and he fell down.”

2 tn Heb “fallen.”

3 tn Heb “his”; the referent (Saul) has been specified in the translation for clarity (likewise in the following verse).
